Self

The self is a person who serves as the subject of their own reflective awareness. As a reference made by a subject to another subject, the self is inescapably subjective. However, subjectivity itself should not be confused with the sensation of having a self—or selfhood. This sense is ostensibly directed away from the subject in order to refer back to its "self" internally (or itself).
